ahhh, paranoia with the database backups - I like it!

But how do you keep track of that last one (the disc
backup to a separate class) should you ever need to
restore from it?  Assuming a total loss of
/usr/openv/netbackup/db/, you won't be able to fire up
the GUI and browse for the files you want, nor will
you know what tape your data lives on.  

Perhaps you write to a special set of tapes? Or better
yet you periodically print out a bpimagelist and file
it away?
