You can not run a 3.4 media server with a 3.2 master, it will not work, and
if it somehow does, it will be unsupported by Veritas and probably won't be
able to restore.

All media and master servers must run the same version of the application.

Sorry :-)

A quick question to y'all.

scenario:
I have a robot library (say a 9740) which is controlled under a media server
running NBU 3.2. The master is at 3.2. Now I want to carve out a few
drives from the 9740 and put them on a second media server running 3.4 to do
Win2K backups.

Which media server (the 3.2 server or the 3.4 server) should control the
robotics?
Will these media servers peacefully co-exist under the 3.2 master?

How about if I entirely upgrade the 3.2 media server to 3.4 and leave the
master
at 3.2?

TIA,
Hal
