What is the host name of the master.

Let's say it's hostname is master and it's private name is master-B

So on the client you would need to add to it's sever list master-B

On the master the client name should be OC70-B, also in the masters hosts,
or in it's DNS server.

Lastly on the client set the REQUIRED_INTERFACE setting to OC70-B

This is in the configuration GUI accessible through a NT Administrative
client, or I think you could put it in the registry under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\VERITAS\Current Config\Config

That should do it, but I would load the admin client on one of my desktops,
set it up as a SERVER = on the master, restart the daemons, and then try it.

Help!

I am trying to get a Win NT NetBackup 3.2 client (master server is
on Solaris 7) with OTM loaded and the SQL db agent to work in a dual-homed
NIC configuration. The main NIC is connected to our WAN with one additional
virtual IP addy, and the secondary NIC is connected to our SAN.

The hostname is "OC70", and the alias we are using for DNS reverse
lookup (Lucent QIP DNS 5.2) is "OC70-B". I have an entry in hosts aliasing
the private SAN IP addy as OC70-B, a pre-cached LMHOSTS entry with the same
info, as well as a static WINS entry with the same info.

Bpclntcmd -self still reports the hostname of OC70 for all 3
interfaces. The best I can come up with is that this a bad port from UNIX
with the gethostbyname function improperly implemented into winsock. Any
ideas? Thank you very much.
