I think this is just a limitation of having a non-NT master.

Previously, I worked in a location that had a Solaris Master and NT clients.
I got the same error you mention below. Currently, I am in a location that
has an NT master and everything works fine.

What I used to do was run a script after the installation that used the
"reg.exe" command from the Resource Kit to set OTM and other NetBackup values
to what my standard configuration was. If it needed to be different than the
standard or tweaked later down the road, I either used reg.exe or the
Registry Editor.

I have a Sun E450 master server with Unix and NT clients running NB 3.2GA
with J363.

The only way I can configure OTM is through the registry. If I try and
configure an NT client, using the Netbackup Administration (for NT) program,
by selecting Properties (Read/Write) I get "Host is not responding, continue
to read clients?". I can select Properties (Write Only) but that does not
give you the extra options.

Everything else on the system works fine.

Does anyone else have the same problem or know of a fix for this?

Thanks,

Dave.

Why not just use the java interface to configure your NT clients? You can
modify all of these 'REG' entries without having to touch the registry.

If you don't like the java administrative interface, then you can try the
Windows NT Administrative Client, this will accomplish the same thing for
you.
