Andrey,

All I am going to say is this ...
I have (2 x STK-9710's) + (2 x STK-9740's) + (2 x STK-L700's)
In all cases I let the robot clean the drives as needed.
I am runing NB 3.2 Patch 443 and starting to use SSO.
I have yet to run into a problem with tape mounts colliding with 
drive cleanings that I am aware of.
