I believe the process is as follows:
There are at least 2 time stamps on a NT file:
last read time (access time)
last edited/write time
When a file in NT is read, the access time stamp on that file gets updated,
naturally this occurs every time netbackup backs-up a file,
netbackup notes the original access time of the file,
after the file has been backed-up, netbackup resets the access time of the
file to the original time
(i.e. sets the access time back to what it was before netbackup read the
file, so it looks like netbackup never read it)
The error you are getting:
> TRV - can't reopen file for setting times: C:\apps\CFUSION\BIN\ASCF.DLL
is caused by the above process failing.
This should NOT cause a status 1.

job(s).]]
We have been getting a return code 01 for one of our NT clients (Sun
Master server) with the accopanying messages
"TRV - can't reopen file for setting times:
C:\apps\CFUSION\BIN\ASCF.DLL"
Does anybody know what time is set on a NT file? Any explainations for
this error message? We have examined the files in question and the NT
timestamps don't seem any different than files that do work. Where/what
is the time setting process about?

Mike:
Following up from the last meeting we had... I've checked files listed
below and "setting times" doesn't seem to be talking about "access time"
on each file. Access times on files listed below are the same as
others. Any other idea what these messages mean?
