bp.conf has the master server as the first entry on the
client and media servers following??
if so you can try this.
1. from the client
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpclntcmd -self
This will return the ipaddr and hostname that netbackup
receives through a gethostbyaddr and gethostbyname
then
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpclntcmd -hn Master Srvr
then from the master server
bpclntcmd -hn NEW_CLIENT
see if it returns what you expect, including ipaddr. in
both instances go to the next step.
2. create /usr/openv/netbackup/logs/bpcd
directory on the master and the client you should see
what is really happening in those logs as a last resort.
Good luck
