Curtis,
    It appears that Veritas only supports version 3.2 clients at a recent
patch level, with a v. 3.4 server. They didn't test it with older patches.
Also, if you're using Oracle clients, you *must* upgrade the clients to 3.4,
or hot backups won't work.
