Are you using NIS+?
check your /etc/nsswitch.conf file to see what it says,
if next to services it look like this:
services: nis
I suggest adding files and see if it works.
services: files nis
If your environment mandates that everything must be in
nis, then you need to ensure all of the services
entries in /etc/services for netBackup are added to
your nis services file.
