Unless you change the media mount timeout NetBackup will wait forever for a
mount.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Media Requests

I have a question about media requests and standalone drives that I am
hoping someone can answer. We are running Netbackup on NT servers with a
standalone DLT7000 tape drive in a test environment. What I am wondering is
how long a media mount request will wait for an operator to mount the
volume. I found a reference to the MEDIA_REQUEST_DELAY configuration but it
says the default delay is 0 seconds. Does this mean it will wait forever or
will it terminate right away if it doesn't get the media it requires. Our
operators are in another building from this test environment so it could be
an hour or so before they discover the mount request and I don't know if the
backup will fail by the time they get to it. If so I will have to get a
console installed where they sit so they can see the mount requests as they
appear.

Thanks,
