to unfreeze the tape

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/bpmedia -ev tape_id -unfreeze

if the tape was frozen it would be because either there was a media error,
or a drive error, before unfreezing it look in

/usr/openv/netbackup/db/media

and look in the error file for that tape ID, it may be bad.

Well, there is a possibility to change the retention policy of any 
tape without using X-windows or java.

To change the policy try:

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/bpexpdate


This should do the trick.
