It could be that my last suggestion (mount before start) only applies for the 
reading media.

As staging is almost the same as cloning, i expect NW is just following the 
Clone Storage Node list. If you move the requested node to the top position and 
restart the command, it is most likely to work - as long as the tape is from 
the correct pool.
