Dears,

Definitively, Win2008 is not friend of mine...

I have a win2008R2 Cluster made of 2 Win2008R2 nodes.

Cluster is quorum based, Q:\ drive.

I defined 2 "file Server" services, autostart enabled, each service a disk.

A simple cluster, in other words.

For backup resources, I defined

2 clients, 1 for each physical node with Saveset=all,

1 client for the Quorum with saveset=Q:\

The 2 "file server" services aren't yet defined as client

and by the way, not backuped yet.

What I see is during DISASTER_RECOVERY backup of the nodes (saveset =all),

the disks from the 2 file server services are considered as "critical"

volumes and be part of DR backup (OSSR_x savesets) by the nodes

holding the cluster service although the "file backup" of these 2 cluster-disks

is not performed as expected.

Why are these cluster-service hdds be part of DR backups ?

Why are they considered as critical by WSB ?

Bug ? Feature ?

Did I miss something somewhere ?

This cluster will become a big file server cluster with high storage space

Imagine backuping raw disks + file level disks of all disks defined as cluster
resource ?

Thanks

Th

Kind regards - Bien cordialement - Vriendelijke groeten,
