Maybe I'm misunderstanding your question, but you can use the 'nfiles' report attribute with mminfo. See the man page for mminfo. This will report the number of files backed up for the save set. nsrinfo will report the pathnames, and I think the number will match in either case. Just depends on how you want to do it. mminfo with 'nfiles' seems easier since it doesn't require having to first run a separate mminfo command to obtain the nsavetime value to subsequently pass to nsrinfo. Also, mminfo with 'nfiles' attribute will work regardless of whether the save set is still browsable. 'nsrinfo' will only work while the save set is browsable.
