[Networker] Restore under RedHat GFS2

Hello,

We recently upgraded two of our students file servers to RHEL 6.1.These servers are using the cluster feature and the GFS2 filesytem.The older systems had GFS filesystem.

We have a full backup of the older system and we need to restore it tothe new filesystem. As in the past we had problems restoring usingindexes for this saveset (400GB, 11 million files) we've tried torestore it using SSID. Using this "trick" we recovered the samesaveset 3 months ago in more or less 8 hours.

Now, the recover hangs at ~13GB. We can see a recover session in themonitoring page of NMC and the tape as "reading, data". In the RedHatclient we can see that the CPU is 50% i/o wait. Very strange.

After some tests, we've formatted the partition (1TB) using some otherGFS2 parameters with the same result. We've reverted the client to theoriginal version of the backup (7.5.2; now is 7.6.1.7 the same as theserver, a W2K8 machine).

Finally, we've recreated the partition using 'ext3' and voilà ... therecover is perfect. We've recovered a 50% in 3 hours and therecovering is running properly right now.

So, there is something wrong between GFS2 and Legato NetWorker (itdoesn't matter if the client is 7.5.x or 7.6.x). We've started a casewith RedHat to see if they can help us.
