As someone eminently more qualified than I has said to me...

The issue to consider is nsrjobd compatibility, as long as both server
and client versions are at the same level of nsrjobd compatibility they
will work.

Ex 7.2.x will not work with 7.3x and above.
7.3.x works with 7.6.2 as a functional client... 

I have had two people email they are using this reliably in their
production.

" ... it is no LONGER supported ...?" - it was NEVER supported. Obvious
issue because when 7.3.x was around, 7.6.x simply did not exist yet. 

Updates should start on the server/storage node. I expect the basic
functions to work but i would never install it - too much question
marks.
