Umm,
I was thinking in 7.6.1 but I've read in the PDF for "RA Program" the
following statement:
"In 2011, you will see EMC begin to use a new release process for new
versions of
NetWorker software. Software will be released under Restricted Availability.
Restricted Availability (RA) releases are fully-tested and
production-ready, however,
software and documentation are made available through an alternate
process that
lets EMC track adoption to ensure the early roll out meets customer
expectations.
After initial monitoring of progress and success in the marketplace, the
software and
documentation will be deemed Generally Available (GA) and moved in total
to EMC
Powerlink."
So, I read that RA are fully-tested and production ready. I'm thinking
to use/test in the near future the "Windows Disaster Recovery" feature
using the ISO provided or the client upgrade because at this moment
we're upgrading manually (I know that is possible to do that with our
actual version but we haven't had time to test it yet).
If I download 7.6.1 from PowerLink, is the latest version? Or do I need
to download and apply the latest cumulative fixes? (7.6.1.7 as for the
PDF file).

Yeah, that's driving me crazy, too. All my Win2008 servers are on 7.5.2,
since we wanted to wait for 7.6.2 to be GA before upgrading. The reason we
waited is because of what is (apparently) happening .. the RA release is,
in effect, still a beta release, as "until EMC is satisfied that the
current users of 7.6.2 are running smoothly" indicates to me. But it's
getting to the point where I may have to move to 7.6.1, just to get better
(not full) support for my Win2008 servers, some of which give me grief
about backing up VSS System Filesets, and so on.
It's almost end of 2nd quarter, which was when 7.6.2 was supposed to be
GAed, I thought.
