Haven't done it for some years but i suppose you did forget to specify the 
remote user/password because the NW server must login to do anything.

In general, i do not recommend to let the NDMP server control the robot. The 
NDMP protocol is not as capable as the standard interface.

If you have a fast network, i recommend you better use the NetWorker DSA 
feature which creates a 'normal' NW client data stream that can be backed up 
anywhere.
