If you do:

<< "C:\Documents and Settings" >>
        +skip:  .

That is supposed to skip (i.e., completely ignore, not even recording the 
names in the mm db) all files in "C:\Documents and Settings", and all 
files and sub-folders under it.

The syntax should be 

<< "name of folder, encased in quotes, especially if the name has a space" 
>>
        +directive: .

The period indicating all files. I've tried *.*, but that doesn't work.

pg 172, and the table on 179.
