Re: [Networker] "error, no matching devices" after upgrade to 7.6.2
2011-05-30 06:13:02
Hi all
Additional info regarding this problem:
One backupserver 7.6.2.631 (no extra storage nodes)
Devices: Three tape devices, all enabled (verified)
Backupserver member of scheduled groups.
Only index and bootstrap fails, the rest are successful. (using any group or
pool)
Save from cmd line have same symptoms.
After upgrade the name of NW server at top of configuration tree was
"backupserver.domain.com"
Client name of NW server is "backupserver", with "backupserver.domain.com" as
an alias.
"Changed" server name by deleting NW server "backupserver.domain.com" from
Enterprise and then adding "backupserver".
Name at top of configuration tree is now "backupserver", and the name in
Properties -> System summary is "backupserver"
The OS hostname of the server has not been changed, nor has the server changed
Domain.
Have tried editing hosts file, without any effect.
I am not sure what "NW server index is nested" means. (reply from Jee)
I'm really stuck here.
Please, any1 ?
Thanks
Eivind

Subject: [Networker] "error, no matching devices" after upgrade to 7.6.2
Hi
After upgrade to 7.6.2 backup of the backupserver itself fails with the
following:
* backupserver:index 2 retries attempted
* backupserver:index 39077:save: error, no matching devices for save of
client `backupserver'; check storage nodes, devices or pools
* backupserver:index
* backupserver:index 5777:save: Cannot open save session with backupserver
* <ERROR> : Failed with error(s)
* backupserver:bootstrap 2 retries attempted
* backupserver:bootstrap 39077:save: error, no matching devices for save of
client `backupserver'; check storage nodes, devices or pools
* backupserver:bootstrap
* backupserver:bootstrap 5777:save: Cannot open save session with
backupserver * <ERROR> : Failed with error(s)
Any thoughts on this ?
Thank you
