Hi Subin Hameed,

See Metalink 358171.1 and Note:433335.1. It talks about the change between
9i and 10g and why you need SET PARALLELMEDIARESTORE OFF.

Oracle support recommends the use of RMAN syntax similar to the following to
disable the requirement that the media management layer must pass
SBTBFINFO_SHARE_MULTIPLE to use multiple channels.

SET PARALLELMEDIARESTORE OFF;
RUN {
ALLOCATE CHANNEL ... TYPE 'SBT_TAPE' ... ;
ALLOCATE CHANNEL ... TYPE 'SBT_TAPE' ... ;
RESTORE DATABASE;
}
