I mean how do I view what files and folders contained inside the tape drive.

If the savesets on the tape are still browsable, get the 'nsavetime'
using mminfo
# mminfo -aq volume=<volumename>,client=<clientname> -r nsavetime
Then use nsrinfo to retrieve the files within the saveset:
# nsrinfo -t <nsavetime from mminfo> <clientname>
