Got it. What was confusing me was that this client I am trying to clone is 
a cluster resource. So what I needed to do was add "SNode2" as "Clone 
Storage Node" for each of the (physical) nodes of that cluster. Since the 
AFTD device I am cloning from is actually mounted on (cluster) node 1, I 
had to add "Snode2" as a "Clone Storage Node" to the client definition for 
(cluster) node 1, not for the client definition of the cluster resource. 
And then off it went! :-)

Sorry for the interruption. Maybe someone will find this in a search and 
they won't have the same problems I did ...
