I'm familiar with gstclreport, however this appears to be restricted to
the canned reports available through the GUI or some "custom" variation
of these canned reports.  All of the statistics reports appear to be
summaries which doesn't really satisfy my need.

I guess I will just manually query mminfo and perform post processing to
get what I need.

You could sum the individual saveset sizes yourself, giving you more
control of the process (like throwing away info for savesets you don't
care about).

However, if all you want is the total NMC gives you, why not just use
that?  You know about gstclreport, right?

I don't believe it is, you need to do the summing, which is probably all
NMC is doing.
