Hi Ralf

Are your DD880 systems in the same location?

Check out NetWorker V7.6 SP1 when it is released later this month, as it has
very powerful Data Domain interoperability enhancements.

Subject: [Networker] Networker + Data Domain

Hi,

We are in the process doing a technology refresh of our backup environment.
2x Fujitsu Pw650 to 2x M4000 with 1x 10Gb NIC.
These servers are used as proxy servers were the copy of the production
databases file systems are mounted and then streamed to written to tape/disk.
We used the best practice guide for the network setting for the 10gb on the
server.
2x Quantum i2000 with Lto2/Lto3 tape drives with 2x Data Domain DD880 with 10Gb
card installed.

The M4000 is directly connected to the DD880 using the 10G interfaces.

We currently backup 40Tb a night split between two sites.
During individual backup testing performance was very good but when more
databases were added to proxy server backup windows speed deteriorated to be on
par with tape or worse.

Any suggestions?

Regards
