Let me clarify, I was rushing:
For our OLDER indexes, that have expired, and may be on older versions
(7.2 or earlier) we have to do a few extra steps:
First, look on the tape (tape#/name), and write down the SSID number,
1976940238 that you want to restore.
Run these commands:
1. mminfo -q ssid=1976940238 -r cloneid (enter)
This will produce a number, make note of it:
1205188208
2. nsrmm -S 1976940238/1205188208 -e 10/01/2010 (hit enter, this will
keep entries until 10/1/2010)
3. nsrmm -S 1976940238/1205188208 -o notrecyclable (hit enter, it will
ask this question)
i. Mark save set copy 1976940238/1205188208 as not recyclable?
yes
You can now run the nsrck command:
4. nsrck -L7 -t 03/11/08 clientname
These procedures are directly from EMC...

Well, our bootstrap tapes are where we save the indexes. We don't save
the
index with each job; we do a "savegrp -O full" every day. That's what I
refer to as a "bootstrap" ..

Ratz! Yeah, those bootstrap tapes have expired, I think. I know I mark
the
EOM savesets as "expire in 7 years", but it appears I forgot to market
the
index job savesets that way ...
So I may have to scan the tapes directly .... yes, I am unfortunately
quite familiar with "scanner -i" ...
Thanks
