Hi,
   The only draw back with NMM is "You cannot do a client initiated backup". 
Yes, I know for some it hurts a lot to hear this. But, this is the truth - NMM 
does not support client initiated backup. So, you cannot use any scripts to 
initiate a client initiated backup. So the only way to initiate a backup is a 
server initiated backup.
