That is correct, you can only recover NDMP to another NDMP device.
Anytime I recover to a different location I use the
/vol/volumename/pathname and works fine. The other one should work as
well.
When you start Networker User and asks which filer to recover to / from
are you specifying the correct one?

would work or should I specify the filer name at the beginning
