Hi,

We have Windows client (client1, OS=Windows NT Server on Intel), and we see this if 'Backup renamed directories' is enabled for the resource:

client1:G:\ save: Invalid VSS Save Operations keyword value of RENAMED_DIRECTORIES

but G:\ still gets backed up.

We have another Windows client (same OS), with the same setting, and we do not see this message. It specified D:\dirname for its save set. Both clients are in the same group, and both enumerate just a single pathname for their save set list; they do not specify 'All'. Both clients are running the same client release. Server is 7.5.1 on RH.

Is this just a harmless message that we can ignore? As a result of this message, can we assume that renamed directories will not get backed up?

Is there something that needs to be adjusted on the client? Both are running an older 7.2.x release. We can upgrade them, but I suspect that I will still see the same behavior wherein one complains and the other doesn't.

My Windows admin. suggested that I ask the EMC listing about this? I do not know how these systems are configured as far as the OS itself.

George
