Similar problem.

Have used 6.x - 7.4 with no problem, when appending to a tape that is already 
in the drive the tape move a few records to verify (label and position). Done 
in seconds.

After install of 7.5.1 the same procedure starts but then a full rewind (and 
forward) appears, every time.. Has never happened before..!?

At time of the upgrade to 7.5.1 nothing else was changed. It's not a big issue 
but it takes a lot of more time and perhaps not optimal neither for the tape 
nor the drive.

Any suggestion?
