The problem is that Windows 2008 R2 is not a supported client for any current 
version of Networker.  There was a previous post about this a few days ago.  
According to someone who commented on the post, R2 modifies the VSS components 
in a way that's unfriendly to NW.

We've taken the steps here to insist that no 2008R2 deployments take place 
until a patch is released, which should be towards the end of Q1.
