If you are on UNIX you could try something like this

nsradmin -i -<<EOF >/dev/null 2>&1
. type: NSR Group; name: name_of_group
update stop now: True
EOF

If you are on windows create a file that contains

. type: nsr group;name: name_of_group
update stop now: True
quit

then run nsradmin -i file
