thanks - i installed the windows client software on the host and the
repository setup is successful.
its a bit odd that the networker windows software has to be copied to the
networker server (solaris) and the path specified. then the windows host name
is entered and the path to the same software on the windows server. I tried to
copy just the XML file to the networker server but it did not work.
anyway working successfully now.

Make sure the windows machine you tell it is a client.
