I hate to reply to my own question, but I just thought of this and maybe 
this matters... 

The theoretical tapes are still in the media indexes, but have long 
expired all the savesets browse policies. I've never done a saveset 
recovery, but I assume I still could at this point. I don't think that's 
an option for other reasons, but it could technically be done, right?
