Don't know if this would apply to you, but I ran across a networker
tuning guide that said if you run out of handles, you should limit your
save group parallelism to 50.

It was the first time I've ever seen a document talk about that, and it
was for versions 7.3 and above.

You can give that a try, and see if it helps.

Subject: [Networker] Index Backup?

I have a few hundred clients that I'm backing up. I have each client in
its respective group, plus each client is a member of my index backup
group. Whenever I run the index backup through a script, I get a "too
many open files" error. The error comes up after the backup runs when
the owner notification script is run.

So... Is there a way to disable the owner notification for a index
backup?....... or would it just be best to make a duplicate client for
each one of my clients and put the duplicated client entry, which won't
have anything in the "owner notification" field in the index group?

Thanks in advance..
