There's certainly hope.

Post Katrina, we had used one of our backup tapes to restore so many
times (it was users' shares), it one day got marked "suspect".

We immediately marked it normal, and then cloned the saveset to another
tape. Luckily that worked, and we were able to continue using the new
"cloned" information.

You can either try a simple restore, or clone it, and then try a
restore. Either way, it is a weak saveset, so don't play with it too
much.

Does anyone know if there is any hope for recovering files from a save
set marked as "suspect"? The saveset is on an LTO2 tape.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
