I would check your tape device first before thinking it's a problem with
Networker. The last time I had errors like this, I spent hours trying to
figure out where the fault lay. Turned out my jukebox's firmware was
buggy, and an update fixed it. The message "cannot access hardware"
looks especially indicative of this. Is this the only device you use on
Networker? If not, does the other device also have issues?

This normally happens when NW tries to unload the drive and as a result
NMC fails to detect the drive status and thinks that there is a tape
loaded in the drive.
In the past I found that there were some bad tapes but now I see this
happening at least once every week.

I tried resetting  the jukebox but it didn't help.

We are using NE 7.3.3 on Win 2003 with Dell ML6000 (Firmware recently
upgrade to 520G.GS003)  with 4 IBM LTO 3 drives.


Pls advice.
