I have one client that was originally set up with one large auxilliary filesystem and other root level directories were symlinks into this filesystem. Later it was decided to change that and the large filesystem was removed and replaced with several smaller filesystems that are mounted at the /u0{123456789} points that used to be symlinks.

The client was never rebooted (why bother -- it's Linux RHEL 5.3). Now, we are discovering that many of the /u0x filesystems are not available for recover because recover still believes they are symlinks to a filesystem that doesn't exist anymore.

When we originally discovered this issue, we were running NetWorker 7.4 on the client. So, we upgraded the client to NetWorker 7.5 and then forced a fullsave of the root (/) filesystem. It seemed to fix it for a while, but now the problem has returned.

The savegroup completion email says it is backing up all the directories that recover can't find. But if I go into /u09 and attempt to recover, I get the error message:

[root@ibis1 /u09]# recover -s nsrserverhost
No index was found for /u09/. The current working directory is /.
recover> ls -l /u09
lrwxrwxrwx oracle              9 Feb 05 04:54 /u09 -> /ora1/u09
recover>quit
[root@ibis1 /u09]# ls -ld /u09
drwxr-xr-x 4 oracle dba 4096 Feb 12 15:10 /u09
[root@ibis1 /u09]#

According to mminfo, a full was taken of the / and /u09 filesystems on April 18.

Has anyone seen this kind of problem before? Any suggestions?

Thanks,
