Hi,

A while back I made some scripts available on this site to create a
Networker Logs website. It really was a mess of scripts and the website
itself was very basic and hard to use. Also, it was all done on unix
and I believe it was hard to implement on a windows (or any) platform.

I've created version 2 of the website that I hope fixes a lot of these
issues. Here are the highlights:
     - Combined the log gathering scripts into one perl program that
manipulates the data at savegroup completion time via the savegroup
notification feature of Networker. (the only change needed with NW)
     - Wrote another perl program to manage the log files created by
the log gathering scripts (i.e. delete old logs/files)
     - Greatly modified the website interface making it much easier to
use (IMO û I finally learned a little html)
     - Wrote another perl program to automatically create the html
required by the new format. This is run on a daily basis.
     - And finallyà.made the perl programs and scripts OS agnostic.
That is, they should run equally well on unix, linux or windows
platforms

There are still modifications to the perl programs necessary if you
want to use them. For the most part, the mods are adding your site
specific info at the top of the perl programs (i.e. directory paths, NW
server names, etc.)

I've been running the new code for a few months, but I'm a unix
based shop. I've tested the primary perl programs on Windows where I
can. The only part I haven't been able to test is the client search
feature.

I was wondering if someone with a windows based networker server
would be willing to use my scripts and validate their use on windows.
I'd also like to hear any opinions on how to make it easier to
implement.

My only motive here is to make the code available to any one who
wants to use it. (well, it was also to learn some new perl and html
techniques). I'd just like to make sure that it is somewhat easy to
implement for those who would like to use it.

If anyone is interested, please let me know. I've created a zip
file with the necessay code, installation instructions, and a brief
explanation of what the website does with screenshots.

I'm really looking for some feedback on the windows side to make
sure it truly is OS agnostic now.

Thanks,
Jim
