How do you do this if it is only a single (clone) instance?
In particular if you have cloned to tape, and
now want to purge the disk.

Hi everyone,
Just a heads up about a new feature I've discovered in NetWorker
7.5.x that may affect you if you're using disk backup units.
A lot of administrators when using disk backup units will
periodically use nsrmm to delete savesets from the disk backup unit
under certain circumstances - e.g., a big manual job that wasn't
needed, a failed full that's going to be re-run, etc.
Usually the procedure has been:
nsrmm -d -S ssid
nsrim -X
or
nsrmm -d -S ssid
nsrstage -C -V volume
This *does not work* any more in 7.5.1. (Not sure about 7.5. Not
going to test, either.)
Instead, when it comes to the purge operation, NetWorker reports
that it's been unable to reclaim space from the disk backup unit
because it's been unable to find details about the deleted saveset(s).
As a workaround, you can instead do the following:
nsrmm -w now -e now -S ssid
nsrim -X
This will mark the saveset as immediately recyclable and then the
subsequent nsrim will trigger safe disk cleanup.
Cheers,
Preston.
