I have manually started the staging process. Can I still stop it ?

Yes, you can still kill it -- you should be able to figure out which nsrstage it is so you only have to kill that one.

Will it corrupt any files if I kill the nsrstage process?

It will orphan all the copies that have already been made and leave them wasting tape space. It will NOT corrupt any files -- no files are removed from the AFTD until all the SSID's have been copied to the new device.
