Hello,
NDMP backups should be at block level, so the permission should not be an
issue, however, you can turn on auditing at the file system to capture any
potential issues.
Did you ever had a proper restore form this particular filer ? if so, did
any passwords changed ?

None of this implies as we tried with different tapes. I think it has to
do with writing on the disk while restoring., i.e. write permissions .
Any ideas ?
