For Windows backups the patch is now up to 7 different binaries.

We installed our patch last week.

Nsrd
Nsrexecd
Nsrindexd
Nsrlcpd
Nsrjobd
Nsrmmdbd
Nsrmmd

Still hasn't solved all of our problems, but now that we disable McAfee during
backups, our jobs don't hang like they used to. Now, if we could just get
that problem solved...

We experienced a similar issue after upgrading to 7.4.4. We are still having
the issue to date. We were given a set of "hot fix" patches:

Patches which affect nsrjobd
LGTsc23458 savegrp processes hang after inactivity timeout.

Patches which affect nsrlcpd
LGTsc22849 New device cannot be added with jbedit

Patches which affect nsrmmd
LGTsc25528 Enable improved nsrmmgd error processing for non-CDI devices

Patches which affect nsrmmdbd
LGTsc24106 volretent taking longest ssretent instead of clretent

These patches did not correct the labeling issue, and also had the added bonus
of causing numerous other issues that directly affected our production
environment, so we backed out within 24 hours.

There is a reference to this issue in the 7.4 release notes:

Labeling volumes concurrently might fail when using the NetWorker Management
Console

LGTpa80901

When labeling a volume by using the NetWorker Console, concurrent label
operations might fail if one of these conditions is true:

◆Two or more label operations are running concurrently.
◆The operation is using the same pool, or two pools with the same label
template.

This error message appears:Error: Duplicate volume name `rh64.014'. Select a
new name or remove the original volume."

Workaround:

Use the nsrjb command to perform concurrent label operations. The EMCNetWorker
Command Reference Guide or the UNIX manpages has more information on the nsrjb
command.

We are using the workaround. EMC has had the case for a month, and so far the
hot fix is their only offering.

7.5

If I select more than 2 tapes in the gui to label the 3rd tape will always fail
and it almost looks as though Networker thinks the 3rd tape label already
exists, but from the error it also looks like Networker did not increment the
tape label number. The error below shows this.
Daily.0212 was the 2nd successful tape to be labeled and should have labeled
the 3rd tape as Daily.0213.
