Re: [Networker] NDMP Recover Error

Hello,
Are you relocating the data or restoring to original location, have you
typed in recover path in the recover ? is this path name correct ? i.e
/vol/vol1/qvol1 ( netapp example). If you have specified userid password
for this client, is it accurate or has changed ?
Be careful restoring NDMP data to original location, typical networker
safeguard ( prompt to overwrite) etc do not work, you will always
overwrite data.
It appears that you are using over the network method for NDMP backup, you
may need to look into " DSA_SAVE_NODE=IP address of the GigE NIC on your
storage node – only used for restores. So restore proceeds over GigE
NIC"--This is what my notes have reference to.
Thanks

NDMP Recover Error
My NDMP Celerra restore is rusty but this "NDMP Service Error: Permission
denied to restore on Root fs " suggests to me you are trying to restore to
the root of the Celerra. You will need to relocate it to the correct path
for the data.

class that EMC offers and that is all the formal training I have. We are
in the process of implementing Networker as our backup and DR solution. We
are on version 7.4.3 of Netwoker, use a DL3D 1500 for our VTL and use NDMP
to backup our Celerra. We also use a Dell autoloader and LTO-4 for our
offsite tapes.
