Hello,
It is possible to point which saveset you want the recover to come from
this is the first step, while doing saveset recover, you choose which
saveset within the browse windows in Networker user you want to use.I
suggest you document or read the admin guide and practice recovering on a
test system or client & document it the way you can refer back to.
Now for Fazil, I already tried that option. But When i put the file
location, for eg : //ClientX/data/group/data.doc in the files part, it
goes for recovering the complete saveset i.e, "//ClientX/data/group". But
I tried another option by specifying the client name where it is mounted.
This is not correct, the Files part in Networker recover is local path
of the client you are recovering, i.e
D:\Notes\john.nsf & not unc paths. This is the reason you are seeing full
saveset being recovered, be careful, you might accidentally overwrite orig
inal data if redirect path is not specified. Also, if you are thinking UNC
paths, the syntax is wrong.
It goes like this Client A://ClientX/data/group/data.doc and the recover
path ' CLIENT A://ClientX/data/group/data.doc is not normalized.
You can map the destination clients data path to networker server where
you are recovering, then specify the recover path as
Y:\clientx/data/group/
Provided Y is mapped to clientA

So is there any other option. Then you would ask me why dint i do directed
recover. But the fact was that i cant view the mapped drive or the saveset
even if the backup is successful. I have already posted about this subject
earlier and no1 could give me exact answers for that too. You can see it
under the subject name in the previous post may be 2 days old stated as '
Location of successful saveset no viewable'.

Thanks guys for the reply. For stans reply, i would try that option. But
still there is no way to point out from which saveset i want the file.

Any ideas on the recover command ?
