Chester,

Thank you for the reply.

I can do this in the console, but I was trying to find an automated way to do
this through nsradmin just in case the situation came up where I had to delete
the drives again..

something like this?

nsradmin> . type:NSR device;name:/dev/nst0
Current query set
nsradmin> update CDI:not used
Update? y

(You could leave the 'name:' from the query, to apply to all devices configured.)

greetings,

Dennis

Hi. Chester.

You need to put the networker management console in to diagnostic mode (View -
diag mode).

The CDI / SCSI commands attribute is configured at per tape device level. Go to
properties on each one - advanced - CDI not used.

We were recommended by EMC to put the tape drives into "not used" mode.
You can of course do this with nsradmin, but I can't help you there.

Johannes Karl

Because of different issues I've had with my networker environment I've
had to delete my libraries and drives multiple times. On my edl drives
emc recommends disabling CDI. I know how to use input files with
nsradmin to run scripts against nsradmin, but what properties do I put
into the input file to disable cdi?
