Hello,
Recovery depends on your own requirements, for instance, some admins only
backup and recover D drive and nothing else, servers are rebuilt and data
repopulated, i would recommend you read up on what each of the additional
savesets can do and test it, for example, recovery all of them on unlike
hardware could cause problems for you.
It may be advisable to backup some or all of them even if you are unlikely
to use them regularly.
As far as backup server and Storage node recovery, you may be unlikely to
reuse them in DR ( onsite may be a different case) as the hardware is
likely to be different and how are you going to overlay Networker server
while recovering from it, SN servers are relatively simple and so it may
just be advisable to rebuild and apply SN software.
In the end any solution you choose would be one that you & the company is
comfortable with, tested frequently and well documented.
HTH

DR Question For Networker Client Win 2003

These are the steps mentioned in the disaster recovery guide for
recovering networker client.

[1] Reinstall the networker client software.
[2] Recover following savesets using networker user prog.

All local drives (except the NetWorker installation directory)
– SYSTEM STATE:
– SYSTEM FILES:
– SYSTEM DB:

Alternatively, if you are using Windows 2003 and Volume Shadow Copy
Service (VSS) is licensed and enabled, or for Windows Server 2008 or
Windows Vista, mark these save sets:
– All local drives (except the NetWorker installation directory)
– VSS SYSTEM BOOT:
– VSS SYSTEM FILESET:
– VSS SYSTEM SERVICES:
– VSS USER DATA:
– VSS OTHER:
– VSS ASR DISK: (Windows 2003 only)

[3] Verify the networker client recovery.

Also it is given that,
follow these steps as a last resort for recovering a networker client and
use ASR recovery method if possible.

What method should I use ? What is the difference ?

I know that ASR recovery can't be used for the networker server, storage
nodes and cleints with sahred disks.

Thanks
