[Networker] Backing up Mac files on a Wondows server

We have a few Windows 2003 and 2008 servers that are used by
individual departments as file servers with NetWorker 7.4.1 as the
backup server.
It seems that if a Mac user stores a file with a name that ends in a
period, the NetWorker back up crashes whem it attempts to back up such
files. How can I work around that problem?
