[Networker] NAS, iSCSI, and non-NDMP backup
2008-12-02 06:38:39
We're looking at NAS (in particular Sun's Unified Storage), and doing backups
of it without needing the NDMP license is being floated. We don't need all of
it covered.
Problem is that some of the NAS may be presented as iSCSI LUNs, possibly
mounted 'locally' as ZFS filesystems.
Can that still be covered by mounting the LUN on our Server or SN, or will that
require backup from the client instead? Logged UFS may be an alternative, have
not gotten that far yet in the planning.
I do understand that any Windows shares would have to be done by one of the
Windows clients, since my Server and SN are Solaris.
