We're looking at NAS (in particular Sun's Unified Storage), and doing backups 
of it without needing the NDMP license is being floated.  We don't need all of 
it covered.

Problem is that some of the NAS may be presented as iSCSI LUNs, possibly 
mounted 'locally' as ZFS filesystems.

Can that still be covered by mounting the LUN on our Server or SN, or will that 
require backup from the client instead?  Logged UFS may be an alternative, have 
not gotten that far yet in the planning.

I do understand that any Windows shares would have to be done by one of the 
Windows clients, since my Server and SN are Solaris.
