Hello,
Today I got the following information from GlassHouse:
Symptoms
Upgrade NetWorker to version 7.4.3
Client Owner Notification are not sent after upgrading to the
NetWorker server to 7.4 SP3
Cause
With 7.4 SP3 changes were inadvertantly made which force the owner
notification field to only recognize commands which begin with
"nsr" and "save"
This seems as if someone used the same routine that checks the
savepnp command without considering the side effects.
The only way I was able to get it to work was by creating a /usr/
sbin/nsrMail ON THE CLIENT itself. Then, the email was generated on
the client and sent just fine. This is, however, impractical if you
need it for 200 clients (some of them don't even have an email
program).
This issue is fixed in LGTsc20280. We had patches supplied by EMC to
cover:
- Linux 32-bit
- Linux 64-bit
- Windows 32-bit
- Windows 64-bit
- Solaris/Sparc
If you are having this problem, open a case with EMC Support
requesting patches as per LGTsc20280.
Cheers,
Preston.
